I am running windows vista 64 bit with service pack 2. Flash Player 11 download page says not compatible with vista 64 bit and when I try to download it gets to 12% and says "timed out". Any idea how to get it installed so it works? Maybe an older version(I couldn't find one that would let me download)
Download the following files:
64-bit: Download the Flash Player 11.2 candidate uninstaller for Windows 64-bit
Download active-x for Windows 32-bit – for Internet Explorer only (EXE, 3.9 MB)
Close Internet Explorer and disconnect from the Internet.
Run the uninstaller and reboot.
Delete the Flash folder in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed.
Run the installer.
Thanks for the response but the ative-x link doesn't seem to work. I get the Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage error. I had already uninstalled before I asked for help. Tried everything I could think of... forums, adobe help, I called them (can't find out anything without paying $39 a session). All dead ends. I wonder what possessed adobe to make a new version that isn't compatible with a 64 bit vista system? And the search continues...
Have you tried this page? http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer11-2.html
Download the 32 bit version.
I think you have to use Flash Player in 32-bit.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
So you can only use 32-bit browsers on Vista 64-bit to use Flash.
Here you can find older versions:

I have tried all of these before. The first link is download and it does not list vista 64 bit as an option for the operating system. If you click on the link on that page for older versions it takes you to the same page as the second link you provided and that page only lets you click on the latest verson, which then circles you back to the original download page. A vicious cycle, and remarkably frustrating.
First use both uninstallers with admin rights:

and
Then restart your PC and install the Flash Player 32-bit with admin rights:
For Internet Explorer

or
For Firefox, Opera, ...

or
(I don't have Vista installed yet, but this should work)
