How can I convert this to text?

Hi,

I have a scanned book in pdf format but I can't fit it onto my smartphone. How can I convert this to text?

    With Acrobat, you run OCR (Clearscan). Don't expect great results.

    As Bill pointed out ClearScan would get you renderable text on the PDF pages.

    Getting proper reflow for the content (which is on a virtual page having a page size determined by the scanner operation) on a small display (smartphone) is something else.

    Manually tagging the PDF content appropriately might help; but, that's a non-trivial task.
