Hi Ryan,

With the recent company decision to shift the focus of the Flash platform to gaming, we are reevaluating our investment in this space. We will definitely have one more bug fix release, but we are not ready to comment on any release plans beyond that.

More bad news but only what I’d been expecting to hear.

So what are the chances of the code being available to we can continue to develop it?

I know this is something that’s been talked about here for a year or two.

I still think Adobe or just SO wrong to be doing this to Flash. Ive still got 3 years of booked clients in the enterprise. It just feels like a real slap in the face, after all the free evangelism Ive put into using flash for business.

Anyway, I want to say thanks guys for all your work and also your input here. It’s another adobe library that was getting very close to being great. Anyway, I really hope we can find a way to get the code to us. I don’t want to have to start from scratch myself.

Bruce,

Please consider fixing the problem with Event.CHANGED not being sent from the spark TextArea when squiggly changes the text. It was acknowledged here:

Hi Bruce,

any updates about the future of Squiggly? If Adobe would stop the development of Squiggly, would Adobe open source it so that the Apache Flex folks can take over the development?

I agree with others. This has been an interesting project. It's too bad it isn't getting the attention it needs. It would be excellent if the project would become open source and/or another orgainization can take it over. Thank you again for the work on Squiggly. Looking forward to checking out the next update.
