I purchased the 64 bit Windows Portrait Professional Studio (PPS64) software. I followed their directions to load the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Portrait Professional Studio 10\PortraitProfessionalStudio.exe", and attempted to install the software on LightRoom 4 with no success. In LR4 -> Edit -> Preferences -> External Editing - Edit in Photoshop are set to: File Format:TIFF; ColorSpace:ProphotoRGB; Bitdepth:16bit; Resolution:240; Compression:Zip. Additional External Editor - Preset Custom; Application: PortraitProfessionalStudio64.exe (showed up automatically); all other setting are the same as External Editing except Compression is set to None. The LR4 error that I get is: Unexpected error performing command: bad argument #1 to "lower" (string expected, got nil) Please help me in getting PPS64 to work as a plugin with LR4. Thx - Alfredo A. It sounds like you loaded it in the wrong location. The Program Files [x86] are reserved generally for 32-bit applications though I have seen where some actually merge the 64-bit with 32-bit in this location. I have PP 64 installed and it is in the Program Files directory. Make certain you have the 64-bit of Portrait Professional and not the 32-bit program. It will have a 64 in the file name. When it goes to load, it should default to the Program Files directory and NOT the Program Files [x86] directory. Then, LR4 64-bit should see it.
Thanks, and I did verify that I do have the 64 bit version. I did hear back from the Portrait Professional folks on the same question and they told me that there is no plugin for their version 10 software that plugs into LR4 at this time. Surprising in that I understood their version 9 software worked well and easily with LR3. Hope they develop a patch.
The workaround with the registry key for PS does the trick also for portrait professional studio.
At least it did for me. - win7-64bit.
Edit in would not do anything before, but now invokes portrait prof and hans over the image as usual in LR3.
However, I am still a bit confused in how to attain this registry key for PS that does the trick for portrait professional studio 64 and how to install it. Can you advise me please? Also, just upgraded to Portrait Professional Studio 64 version 10.7.
Cheers - Alfredo
