Multiple department users with 1 license/single pc?

Mar 19, 2012 11:16 AM

We're purchasing 1 license of CS5.5 for a department.  They'd like to have multiple users use the program. Is that allowed ?  Thanks.

Last time I checked, a license allows you to install on a tower and a laptop.  But, you're only allowed to use one at a time.  The license covers a machine, not a person.  So, any number of users can get on the same machine.

    Jim's understanding is correct.

See the end-user license agreement (EULA):

Section 2.5 is the most relevant section.

Is this still true for Cloud programs... install/activate on 2 computers but only use on 1 at a time?

Creative Cloud license does allow both machines to run at the same time, but they are tied to a person, not a machine.  So legally, everyone in the department would require their own license.

Having said that, I'm not sure how that kind of thing can be monitored, so...
