troubles pasting into indesign

i designed something in illustrator that i am trying to paste into indesign cs2 but i keep getting an error message. i would rather paste then place bc i want to be able to edit the image in indesign. any suggestions?

    There is a limit to what you can copy/paste from Illy into ID. You certainly can’t paste a complicated graphic.

     

     

     

    I would suggest posting full details on the Illy graphic and what the error message is in the InDesign forum.
