Problems deleting fonts

I am having trouble deleting fonts off my computer. I will try to delete a font say it is named Angsana, but I get an error message saying Times New Roman font is in use. In the font folder it says the name is Angsana. When I open the font preview it says the name is Times New Roman. I already have Times New Roman on my computer. This is happening with several fonts where it says one name then it says another somewhere else. What the heck is going on and how can I get rid of these fonts?! Thanks!!

Nothing to fix because nothing is wrong. These are substitution fonts used to provide compatibility with other Unicode regions. It's an "under-the hood" thing over which you have no control. There is no way to delete these fonts and you shouldn't even try. It could render your Windows completely defunct and only show garbage text.

So if I have 20 fonts that say they are times new roman (but they also have another name) I can't delete any of them? These didn't come with the computer, they were accidentally installed.

You might need to clear your font cache file
