Hi!
I'm a bit confused. I have been working through a book with exercises and the book has me creating different sites. I've gotten to the chapter on creating a new document with a CSS layout. GREAT!!! Well, I created the page and everything went well for the first time, but when I went to create another new page using a CSS layout, it did not show me the internal style sheets that are supposed to show up in the CSS panel. Plus, the CSS layout page that I created and worked fine (along with any other pages for the site) will not show in Design view..........the code only shows (in Code view).
Anyone have any ideas what is going on and how to fix my problem?
Thanks!!
Joy
Surprisingly, the extension name is not relevent, it can be anything
The question was embedded vs remote.
In your non-working pages, is there a tag in the head section that calls for the
remote stylesheet like:
<link href="blabla.case" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> ?
Note: as you continue your learning processs, and wish to use us for assistance,
you will find it very helpful to get yourself some web hosting space so you can upload
your problem pages and associated files and give us a link so we can see what's going on.
I suspect .css got munged into .case by the smartphone.
Link HTML pages to external style sheets.

I checked the code that I had created the CSS layout page with and it has this in the head:
It also has
The other pages in the site folder also have the same thing in the head.
Does this help?
I also was working on another site and when I attached the external CSS files to the page that I was creating, I clicked the Enable InContext Editing button. I didn’t realize that it creates a new folder that had 3 JS files in it??? I didn’t know why they were there, so I deleted them from the site. That would not have anything to do with things going all crazy on me, would it?
Like I said, this is all new to me and I’m just learning the program.
Thanks for any suggestions or help!

Joy,
We would need to see your HTML and CSS code from a good page and a problem page to compare them.
The best way to do this is to upload your test pages and dependant files to a remote server (commercial web space) and post the URLs. If you don't have commercial hosting yet, you should find one.

Nancy I'll have to work on that when i get a chance.
But; however, when i clicked on the view tab on the application bar and clicked on head view to remove the head icons, I could see my pages in design view again?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, ( and correct me if I'm wrong, Nancy O ) CSS styles are attributes applied to elements in your layout, so you would not see CSS code in design view. If you want to retain the CSS, just make a copy of the page that contains the CSS; rename it and then you will have your original and a new page with all of the CSS. I believe that when you create a new page, there is no CSS. You'd have to either reference an external style sheet or copy and paste the CSS into your new page from the original page.

Thanks........I think I get what you are saying.
When I created a new CSS layout, it kind of messed everything up even though I attached the stylesheet, correct? I just need to copy, use the save as, and name the page something different and it should show up when in head view? Did I get that correct?
Thanks!!!!

Nothing is clear because despite numerous requests, you haven't shown us your code.
We don't really know what you're struggling with here.
HOW IMPORTANT IS CODE? A Plea to new forum users.
