How do I create a totally new palette of swatches?

Mar 23, 2012 1:04 PM

Hey all.  I have a question for you.

How do I create a new palette of swatches?  I know how to add a swatch color, but how do I create an entirely new "partition" of my own swatches?

For instance, look at this picture here:

See the "ANPA colors" "DIC Color Guide" etc?

How do I create a new preset where I can enter my swatches into so that it doesn't get crowded?

Thanks.

Delete the swatches that are there and add your own, or load another file of swatches.

And you should look up how to use the Preset Manager.

Yes, of course.  You can add a preset swatch.

Or you can append a file of swatches, then select just the ones you want to save in the Preset Manager.

You really need to spend some time reading the help files on the preset manager, and presets in general.

It sounds like you're missing a lot of the basics.

If you want to know what all is available and how it works... yeah.

You can also find lots of tutorials online, and third party books that'll explain how the features relate to a particular workflow.

I covered creating a new palette of swatches in my lynda.com course Photoshop CS5 for the Web. That particular movie is one of the free samples. It should answer your question Mod.YoYo. Here's the link to that movie:
