My flash and HTML knowledge are relatively limited; so I'm not sure where the solution would lie, but I'm wondering how, since search engines use page content to index websites much more so than meta-data (Google doesn't even pay attention to meta keywords, as I understand) how can one optimize an entirely flash based website to have a higher ranking on a search engine?
Yahoo and Google can't 'read' .swf files with their robots are spiders (as far as I know, perhaps there is a way to encode this info) it seems like flash sites are pretty screwed in these terms.
I'd rebuilding my website and Ideally I'd like it all contained in a single document, the different pages being different sections in the timeline etc, so I'm wondering what I can do to help my situation. Thanks for help guys, you've all been great so far
The topic of SEO and Flash comes up every so often in this forum, so you should skim thru some of the pages and find what's already been discussed. You can even try using the search function to help make finding them easier. I can see one down the page from your posting now, and there are likely more further along.
Here's some links I've collected over time as well, though I haven't checked them lately to see if they all still work...
