Issue with "Save Selection As" in Adobe Audition

This is more than an annoyance than anything.

 

Before:

 

Every time I highlighted what I wanted to save in the waveform section, right clicked and selected "Save Selection As", I would get something like this...

 

ANDREW QUINN...JOHNS TOWN JAZZ.wmv_01.wav

 

...and if I repeated the same process, but this time selected a different piece of the track, I would get this...

 

ANDREW QUINN...JOHNS TOWN JAZZ.wmv_02.wav

 

(notice the bolded area)

 

Now:

 

Every single time I save something, it's always..

 

ANDREW QUINN...JOHNS TOWN JAZZ.wmv_01.wav

 

... and the "01" part stays the same. It doesn't increase in numbers with every new save selection from the same track.

 

It's very annoying having to manually change the number every time because if I chop up a vocal or a track into several pieces, it adds up to 40-50 chops per.

    If it worked OK before and not now when did it change?

    It changed about 2-3 weeks ago.

     

    I haven't done anything to it at all. I just drag an mp3/wav, chop it, save it and I'm done, so I'm not sure why it would all of the sudden change

     

    It's also noteworth that I reinstalled it several times and it hasn't fixed it. Could it be left-over files from the initial install that weren't unistalled and remained, which affected the reinstall? If so, where would I find them?

    When you try to save the selection, does it tell you that there's a file of that name already? As in, a message asking you whether you wish to overwrite the existing file?

    Yes it does. It forces me to individually number them instead of auto doing it for me like it used to.
