Macromedia Fireworks 4 - Mac

Hi,

I have had the old school Macromedia Fireworks 4 (2001) for years and have always used it on my PC.  Works great for the limited things I need it for.  I recently bought an iMac with Lion and am wondering if anyone knows if my old Fireworks CD can be installed on the Mac.  If not, is there a cheap program that you'd recommend for basic photo editing, cropping, lasso, editing text, adding text to photos, etc?  iPhoto has some minor editing features but I need a bit more than what it offers.

    Be sure to explore the features included in your Mac's Preview application. It has a surprisingly robust feature set. (This is a screenshot of the Selection tools included in the Snow Leopard version.)
