I downloaded 4.1RC and insalled. I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.3.
When I try and edit in CS5, NIK or Topaz I'm getting a dialogue box saying "Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file at /Volumes/My Book/......JGP_4343.NEF for editing. It will not be opened."
It doesn't matter what file I choose on that drive.
However, I am able to Edit In other files from a different drive. As well the files opened prior to upgrading to 4.1.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Looks like Lightroom is unable to save rendered TIFF or PSD file for further processing.
There are lots of reasons: drive is inaccessible, set in readonly mode or you simply don't have permissions to write files to that folder.
Can you manually create any file in the folder where processed RAW file is stored?
Are you possibly shooting and downloading images from one of Nikons new camera? (Leica shooter myself, so don't know the names). Possibly, ACR is not up tpo date yet.
If so, work around would be to duplicate your folders, use Adobe's free DNG editor, convert to DNG and away you go. Should have np problems.
