Type styles doubling in menu dropdown

Apr 1, 2012 7:11 PM

All text styles (in all fonts) are doubling up in the dropdown menu in both the Character Panel and the Options bar:

Anybody else seeing this?

    I've seen this too.

Try using FontBook (or whatever font organizer you have)  to see if you have any duplicate fonts active.

Glad you got it fixed Les.

I still have this "double Font Style" pop up often, and I can't seem to track it down. I'm having another, maybe unrelated, PsCS6 font problem.  If I restart PsCS6 (reset prefs) and create a new document, and type some text, it will be minutes before I can change the typeface. ("Could not complete your request because of program error" message appears)

I'm wondering if you see the same delay.

    Restart PsCS6 with reset prefs.

    Open new file default size.

Select Type Tool and type a word, commit type.

Now try to change typeface of the word you typed, either via options bar or Character Panel.

    thanks

    CB

it sounds like you may have something more going on with your system.

Yeah, I think so too. I recently downloaded a dozen or so "distressed" fonts for a project I'm working on.

However, the delay problem is only appearing in PsCS6, not CS5 or any other Adobe product.

We have a script that may help with corrupted font issues and duplicate font entries.

Please give it a try at the link below and let us know if it helps.

    Thanks,
