constrain path dragging

Apr 2, 2012 2:00 AM

In the video presented by Deke McClelland over at Lynda.com, there's a tickbox "constrain path dragging" when working with paths / shape layers.

However in PSCS6 on OSX 10.6.8 on my MacPro 1.1, I cannot find that tickbox anywhere… (the UI looks slightly different then in the Deke video as well, so it might have been moved?)

I need the option, because the "legacy" behaviour is sometimes very useful…

If you select the Path Selection Tool or Direct Selection Tool you should see it in the tool options bar.

Never in a million years would have found that. Been using PS since the beginning and have NEVER ONCE selected the Direct Select tool. (Cmd key user) Never selected the zoom tool either (CMD Space)

Maybe it would be helpful to also put that check box in the pen tool options bar.
