I have finisihed with my project in Premiere Pro CS5 and I'm trying to create a dvd.
I sent it to Encore: File>dynamic link>send to Encore.
In Encore I chose DVD NTSC
I got "error loading transcode preset"
Is there a fix to this?
thanks.
(FYI - I was able to export this same video to youtube)
Hi Stan, it worked! Here is what I did.
As you said I Open Encore directly > created a new project > and imported an MP4 video (which was the clip created when I exported the sequence).
I did not get the message and was able to create the DVD.
Now my questions:
Do you think my problem was that I was accessing Encore directly from Premiere where my project contained different formats of clips?
Should I have to export the entire project BEFORE I attempt to use my video in Encore?
I appreciate your help.

This should not be a problem. But it is an interesting possibility.
Test it in part by confirming the error is still there, using 2 methods.
First, open Encore, create a new project, and use File - Adobe Dynamic Link to bring in the same PR sequence that was a problem. Does that fail?
Second, close Encore, and do your original from PR, Send to Encore.
I don't do dynamic link, so I'm not sure how you would use the "run as administrator" fix in that situation... but... one of the links below describes how to tell Encore to always use run as administrator when clicking the icon
As well as the below, right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

Stan, so you know. I did as you told me to test: encore>file>dynamic link>import premiere pro sequence
However, when I did that I saw my premiere project but cudn't get to the sequence.. I clicked on the project.. It said Loading.. and there it stood... nothing happened.
So I guess I am back to solution 1: I should export the sequence in Premiere... give it a name. Open Encore and import the sequence.
If by an odd chance I figure something else... will let you know. Thanks.
