Encore CS5 ERROR Loading transcode preset

Apr 2, 2012 2:01 AM

I have finisihed with my project in Premiere Pro CS5 and I'm trying to create a dvd.

I sent it to Encore:  File>dynamic link>send to Encore.

In Encore I chose DVD NTSC

I got "error loading transcode preset"

Is there a fix to this?

thanks.

(FYI - I was able to export this same video to youtube)

Test just a bit: Open Encore directly. Can you create a new project? Add a menu from the library? Preview?

    Has Encore worked before?

A reinstall has been the fix for some users.

Do you think my problem was that I was accessing Encore directly from Premiere where my project contained different formats of clips?

This should not be a problem. But it is an interesting possibility.

Test it in part by confirming the error is still there, using 2 methods.

First, open Encore, create a new project, and use File - Adobe Dynamic Link to bring in the same PR sequence that was a problem. Does that fail?

Second, close Encore, and do your original from PR, Send to Encore.

I don't do dynamic link, so I'm not sure how you would use the "run as administrator" fix in that situation... but... one of the links below describes how to tell Encore to always use run as administrator when clicking the icon

As well as the below, right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

    .

    Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/771202

-Set to always "run as" via icon http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395

Dynamic link can be used from the Encore end; in fact, the only way to add multiple sequences to the same EN project. So the always run as admin can be used.

Thanks for reporting. Many doing HD to SD do not like DL, so the workflow you found may be fine. (The problems they have are not the one you are experiencing; it should work.)
