Hi, i have downloaded adobe creative suite 5.5 trial version on my new 27" iMac version 10.7.3.
My first problem is once i have downloaded the programs in adobe assistant the file will extract forever "extracting...this may take a while" <- that message will never go away
My second and probably more important problem is when i try to install the program I get an error message that reads " The following disk images couldn't be opened > reason: invalid checksum "
Please help,
i will need these programs for work soon and i don't want to run into this problem if i download them again
Well, there are no guarantees.... However, the two issues seem related in the first place and without getting to the bottom of them, this may just happen again. So to which location do you download? what browser do you use? What kind of disk do you use in your iMac? Have you manualyl opened the DMG in your Disk Utility and verified integrity or tried to repair it?
Mylenium
I downloaded it in chrome, saved it to my profile on my computer. ex "/Users/myname/". I have manualy opened it and I still get the "checksum" error, and when I verified the integrity it gave me this message:
"designStandard_SC_5_LS1.dmg." (calculated CRC32 $33DFB283, expected CRC32 $45805F95)
also i dont know what you mean by what kind of disk i use on my iMac... i can only tell you i bought this computer 4 days ago and its the 27-inch: 2.7GHz one.
thanks a bunch for looking into this
i hope i gave you enough info.
I just had the same issue with flash 5.5 trial download. Open "Disk Utility" and under "Disk Utitiy/Preferences" uncheck the box that says "Verify Checksums". Then, if you are using the Adobe Download Assistant, close and restart it and the download should finish extracting itself. But, make sure that once the download/extraction is complete to recheck the "Verify Checksums"... it needs to be on.
Hope that helps!
The issue can be with an uncomplete download.
