Hi,
I have read through various previous posts and Lilybiri's advice on delaying the appearance of the continue button but just wanted to check that what I want to do is not possible before using one of these alternatives.
My results slide only shows the Post Results button and the continue button. I want to make sure a student has posted their results before they can progress to the next linked Captivate project using the continue button. My idea was that I could set up a variable to be incremented when they click Post Results. This variable is then checked in an advanced action attached to the Pass/Fail options that are triggered from the continue button and is used to ensure that the results have been posted before moving on to the next quiz.
It doesn't look to me like it is possible to access whether the post results button has been clicked but just want to check...
Thanks,
Lynsey
Lynsey,
You cannot trigger an advanced action by individiual buttons on question slides, nor score slide if you are talking about the default slides. So I do not see how you could accomplish your workflow at all.
I never use the alternate reporting myself, where the Post Results button appears. All buttons are paused by the same pausing point visible on the timeline. It is not possible to add an interactive object to the score slide, so the only events available are the On Entry event for the slide and the Success/Failure events for the Quiz. The last two events can trigger an advanced action but this action will be executed when the Continue button is clicked.
There is a priority in the buttons, you can drag the Continue button under the Post Results button, but that is no help because for some reason the Post Results button doesn't disappear after having posted the results.
Have not immediately a solution,
