Help please. Mixdown says it takes 17 hours, then hangs

Apr 4, 2012 1:27 AM

All of a sudden when I bounce my session to a track or bounce the master to a track, it says the mixdown is going to take many hours, from 8-17 hours to mix the session, then it HANGS, after about 10 seconds and doesn't mixdown anymore. I'm very concerned because this is an important session that I now can't mixdown.

I remember having this problem once years ago but can't remember what the solution was.

Please help with any ideas or solutions. I have tried bouncing down tracks, eliminating effects, but no difference so far. There are only half a dozen tracks, it's very frustrating. I feel helpless!

Thanks.

Maybe try bouncing down to a different location?

I'm thinking maybe you have a lot of blank space after your last clip?

If that is the case then you can fix it by editing the sesx file

I don't know how to do it using CS5 but if you edit the sesx with a text editor  then on the 5th line look for "duration=" (the line starts with "<session")

Edit the value for duration to be a value a few samples bigger than the end of the last clip and then save the sesx file

    My bad.

So is there a lot of space after the last clip?

Is this session an ses or xml file?

How about you just email me the ses file (no audio) via the aatranslator.com.au web site and I'll check it out
