All of a sudden when I bounce my session to a track or bounce the master to a track, it says the mixdown is going to take many hours, from 8-17 hours to mix the session, then it HANGS, after about 10 seconds and doesn't mixdown anymore. I'm very concerned because this is an important session that I now can't mixdown.
I remember having this problem once years ago but can't remember what the solution was.
Please help with any ideas or solutions. I have tried bouncing down tracks, eliminating effects, but no difference so far. There are only half a dozen tracks, it's very frustrating. I feel helpless!
Thanks.
I just tried Export and I got a message that said "Warning, the file is over 4 gigs....", and gives me the option to break it up into smaller files. 4 gigs! That's bizarre. My previous version of the session exports fine, takes 3 minutes to bounce. I may have to try going back to square one. Bummer. What the heck could cause this? I'd prefer not to go backwards if I can help it.
I'm thinking maybe you have a lot of blank space after your last clip?
If that is the case then you can fix it by editing the sesx file
I don't know how to do it using CS5 but if you edit the sesx with a text editor then on the 5th line look for "duration=" (the line starts with "<session")
Edit the value for duration to be a value a few samples bigger than the end of the last clip and then save the sesx file
There is only 1 sesx file in my entire computer, from 2011, from an "untitled" session, so obviously, that's not the one (and why I would have only one is puzzling). I do see the duration parameter in there, but can't see a way of changing this for my current session. How do I know how many samples long my session is anyway?
I'm using 3.1 by the way, not CS5 version.
