I would try renaming the preference file and letting LR Build a new one.
Try to import
Surely you could give some info on what you have done thus far?
We do not even know if your computer/ lightroom recognises the card reader, at what stage does the process fail, are there any error messages displayed. Have you booted Lightroom or are you expecting it to open automatically when the card reader with card is connected to the computer.
LR does recognize card reader, and displays all images ready to import. when i designate a location to import to and hit import, the following window comes up"Some import operations were not performed" then in dialog box says " the following files were not imported because they could not be read IMG_2014.CR2
hey rikk...do not know what operating system you r operating, but unlike mac os 10.4.11 (my older system still on my laptop) mac 10.7.3 lion does not show a library when you navigate to user>library, so to rename preference is an issue now. LR 4 worked fine prior to installing lion.
as a test i also tried to open aforementioned images on LR 3, which i still have on my computer running lion, and they also would not import. definitely a LR 4 lion issue i would think!
and how does one correct that? as i said in previous email, i had no problems with LR 4 until i installed lion. seems like others have had the same issue... http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_4_does _not_import_raw_jpeg.
Same drive as app.
Thanks for the info on library...yes lion is not my favorite, was especially pleased to learn that apple works no longer works with it...not!
I think what I am going to do, when I have a moment, is uninstall lr 4 and then reinstall it again...nothing to lose.
Looking forward to seeing what other quirks lion presents.
Thanks for the info.
