Card Reader, Direct Camera Connection, or from Disk?

If you copy some images to your hard drive first will they import from there?

I would try renaming the preference file and letting LR Build a new one.

    http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lightroo m-4.html

    Close LR

    Rename file

    Open LR

    Try to import

Surely you could give some info on what you have done thus far?

We do not even know if your computer/ lightroom recognises the card reader, at what stage does the process fail, are there any error messages displayed. Have you booted Lightroom or are you expecting it to open automatically when the card reader with card is connected to the computer.

Sounds like you may have a problem with the permissions at your import destination.

You may have a corrupt user account. Try creating another user account with full permissions and see if it will work.

This looks like a different issue. That one is for people who import Raw+JPEG, you indicate you were only importing Raw.

Create a new user account. See if it works.

To where are you copying them. Internal Drive? External Drive? Other?

Same drive as the App or another?

In the Finder menu bar, if you hold the Option key when you access the Go menu you will be able to open the Library. Lion is a pain I say!!
