Accidentaly removed smart sound for elements 10 how can I reinstall

I accidentally removed smart sound for elements 10. Can I just reinstall this portion of the program or do I have to uninstall elements 10 and then reinstall the entire program?

    Welcome to the forum.

     

    I would first try a Repair Install, to see if that repairs SmartSound.

     

    Just a thought here, but as the SmartSound module in PrE 10 is the Sonicfire Pro Express-Tracks program, which is free from SmartSound, I wonder if you could download that, and install it into the same folder?

     

    Back before SmartSound moved to Sonicfire Pro (was a separate, stand-alone program for many versions), and the module used in Premiere (both Pro and Elements) was the SmartSound QuickTracks plug-in, one could just install that, and it would find and link to Premiere. Not sure if it's that simple nowadays.

     

    I've used SmartSound T/S for years, and they have always been very good and quick to respond. I would contact them too, as they might be able to help you get SmartSound going again.

    Actually, there was no SmartSound in version 10, Bill. It uses SonicFire Pro and Quictracks, which can be downloaded also from their web site.

    That was what I was talking about. SmartSound QuickTracks (now has a different meaning), was replaced by Sonicfire Pro Express Tracks, which is their free edition, unlike their Sonicfire Scoring edition.

    What did you have to do, to retrieve SmartSound?

    I had my original install disk for elements 10. I went to browse disk and found the missing file and ran the install from there.

    PRE9 & PRE10 no longer have a repair feature, just remove. There is however a separate folder for SmartSound that has it's own installer and would be worth trying initially.

    Neale,

     

    Thank you. I had heard that some Adobe programs had dropped the Repair Install, but could not recall which ones were in that group. Repair Install was a real time-saver, when things got a little "smurfed."
