Importing CR2 files into LR 3.5

Hello,

 

I have a Canon Rebel XS 1000D that I have been recently shooting RAW images with. However, when I go to import the .cr2 files into LR, it says that it does not recognize the format. What should I do?

    You will need to upgrade to a newer version of Lightroom or convert the files to DNG format with the free DNG Converter.

    The Canon Rebel XS 1000D has been supported for some time. So, it's not clear why you are getting this message. Have you tried updating to Lightroom 3.6

    Hmmm, interesting. I do have LR 3.6, and downloaded the DNG converter as well. However, the DNG converter won't allow me to import pictures from my camera. Lightroom still continues to give me the same error message, and I have even clicked the "transfer to DNG" option

    Mac or Windows? Are you trying to import from a card reader or directly from the camera? When troubleshooting, you need to give people enough system info to be able to help you.

    I'm operating on a Mac system and do not have a card reader, therefore importing them directly from the camera.

    Well, that's not optimal...try a card reader (connecting a camera directly is not the best solution).
