InDesign crashes continuously when trying to export into PDF - Urgent Help!

Hello All,

 

I'm facing the issue like InDesign is getting crashed continuously when trying to export directly the PDF, I'm using InDesign CS5.5. Please suggest urgently.

    Thanks for the response, yes, my InDesign is updated to 7.5.2.

    Windows or Mac? If Mac, do you have a crash report? You can upload that to Pastebin.com, then put a link to it here.

    What version? Do you get an error message?

     

    Does it crash if you make and use a new user account?

    I'm using InDesign CS5.5 with Windows 7 professional, it's getting crashed whenever I export the PDF using our customized profile. I'm getting the error message like InDesign CS5.5 has stopped working.

    Windows 7 does not provide a lot of useful crash information, but any of the details from the crash dialog will help. Please make a new user account and try that. It will help to determine if the problem is in the program or your user.

     

    Are you running a script to do the export, or are you using File > Export...?

    I tried with script, but later assumed it's crashing even doing manually using File -> Export.

    IS it happening with one particular document or all the document?

     

    have you tried with the new blank documnet?

    Please try File > Export from a new user account.

     

    And try a new file to be sure it isn't just file corruption.

    Sorry, that's terribly unclear.

    Is it crashing with BOTH the script and File > Export?

    Is your script using exportFile or asynchronousExportFile?

     

    If it crashes manually, have you tried disabling asynchronous exports per Re: Background PDF export Help?

    Thanks you all for your responses. But finally I rectified this issue by removing the 'End Nested Style Here' character from the running head contents.

    Was the nested style in the text that was being picked up by the variable, or in the heading that included the variable?

    Yes Peter, the nested style in the running head text was being picked up by the variable.

    I think that might be a bug. The variable is a single character, as far as ID is concerned, so formatting inside the text that is picked up should not make any difference.
