downloads opening on golive, not acrobat reader?

I'm trying to view my bank statements of the web, but they keep opening only in golive with all kinds of gibberish that I don't get (you can see I'm not a computer person). On the bank website it says that the statements should be opening in Acrobat (which I have on my computer) but that doesn't happen. Help!!!!

    The simplest way to fix this may be to reinstall Acrobat or Adobe Reader to reset the way that your operating system handles the PDF format.

     

    You might also try right clicking on the links to PDF files and choosing to save to your computer. From there, you may have greater control over which program opens the PDF file.
