My install of Premiere Elements 10 was fine.
The welcome screen comes up fine. The "Organize" works fine.
But when I click "New Project" the activity bar comes up but then goes away and nothing opens. Sometimes the activity bar flashes up again for a few seconds then goes away.
I noticed that the Adobe Premiere Elements 10.exe and the Adobe Premiere Elements.exe files are both running.
Same thing happens when I click "Open Project".
When I try to begin a new project in the Organizer window - nothing.
We are running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit SP1.
We have been struggling with this software for days trying to uninstall and re-install it to try to get it to work.
Very, very frustrating.
It looks like a good product - if you can get it to work!
Have you tired resetting the licensing, per the FAQs to the right of this forum?
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/542377
(Also, have you ensured that you installed the 32-bit and not the 64-bit version of the program?)
Steve, thanks for the reply.
I confirmed we installed the 32-bit version of the software (we started with Disc 1) and I ran the licensing software and it still does not work. The activity bar we get after we click "New Project" stays on a little longer but then goes away. Also, I failed to mention, after we click "Open Project" we get a little file folder, but when you click it the software shuts off.
Any more thoughts before I send an email to Adobe Tech Support?
And again, thanks for your time.
Hm-m, with the program shutting down, I would look over this ARTICLE and especially the checklist at the beginning, to see if everything there is OK.
Good luck,
Hunt
OK, here is a solution (At least it worked for me).........
Go to your C Drive,
Program Files,
Adobe Folder,
and the Adobe Premier Elements Folder.
Scroll down within this folder until you see 2 .exe files named - 'Adobe Premiere Elements 10.exe' & 'Adobe Premiere Elements.exe'
Dbl-Click the 2nd exe file 'Adobe Premiere Elements.exe' (Not the one labeled with a 10)
You will be met with a screen to accept the agreement, followed by the program opening, but appearing with full screen of gray.
Go to 'File', 'New', then 'Project'
**I would recommend that you create a desktop shortcut to the 'Adobe Premiere Elements.exe' file because even after accepting the licensing agreement, the Adobe welcome screen will still not function correctly (I have Win 7 Enterprise SP1). Adobe needs to do some troubleshooting with this incompatibility.
