I'm using Lightroom version 3.6 and would like to crop my image for export to a particular size 6.0 x 4.5. I have marked this specification in the export dialog field, but that doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions? I'm using a Macbook Pro version 10.6.8.
Thanks for your help-

Elizabeth, you will have to set a Crop ratio in the Crop tool for that and crop the images there. You may want to make Virtual Copies for your crops also.
Then in the export module, set the dimension in inches or centimetres, etc.The ratio is set with the Crop Tool and the size is set upon Export.
Thank you so much for your help with this. I used the crop tool and set a custom crop size to my specifications. How would I know before actual submission that those specs had been met? Is there a way to see the image size after the crop? I'm not sure it was executed since I never had the option to select done after my crop edits. I was able to do the before and after comparison to see that the crop had been done, but that's all. Did I do something wrong in that case?
You also mentioned making a virtual copy for the crop, it looked to me like LR did that automatically? Is there a command to actually make virtual copies?
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, a virtual copy is made with cmd+'
The size in pixels or cms, etc will be determined in the export modulw when you export a cropped version.
As Lightroom is non-destructive (doesn't change the original) cropping is only seen on the previews and doesn't actually occur on the original file but is applied when you export a new version.
