the icons for my .ai files have all changed to Acrobat icons*

I have recently upgraded to CS5 and OS Lion. I have noticed that recently all of my .ai files now seem to have an Acrobat icon instaed of an Illustrator icon.

Is this normal?

Not normal but since the format of AI files is now PDF instead of PostScript it can happen. There are some utility apps out there that will "nudge" a file and re-establish the proper file associations. See here http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/14014/nudge

Also , You can Cmd+click on any Ai file, go to "Get Info"

In the dialog box , "Open with" :- change it to "Adobe illustrtaor cs5"

and click on the button :- "Change All" and then close it and check.
