I'm am trying to add an article to a Folio and am getting "Content generation error. [Error: invalid asset]. I have re-imported all of the files in the article. I'm stumped. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm getting this too. I've pin pointed to an MP3 file. Nothing out of the ordinary here, the files have are stored locally and have been imported properly. With the audio layer deactivated the article imports into the folio just fine but turn it on and this is the error we get.
Using v19 tools. Any known mp3 incompatabilities?
Christian, Please Go through this KB article: http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/error-invalid-asset -location-indesign.html
It could be either due to a forward slash on the end of any URLs specified for Web Content Overlays or due a an invalid path for Image Sequence and Panorama Overlays. If you are using Folio Producer tools 1.8 or 1.9 the error due to forward slash shouyld not be causing the problem.
Hm. Might be that the two errors are of a different kind:
[Error: Invalid asset] vs. [Error: Invalid asset location].
I have an error with a simple image I want to use with "Pan and Zoom" ("Schwenken und Zoomen" in my German InDesign CS5.5 v7.5.2 on OSX 10.6.8).
The error message translates to "[Error: Invalid asset]":
After a bit of experimenting I think I know why there was an error.
My first attempt was on an TIFF image (=> ERROR), then I tried with a JPEG version (NO error).
Too bad Overlay Creator cannot detect wrong file formats for the given task.

Thanks for the help guys however I'm still getting the error. I'll stress that it's only .mp3 files that are causing this message to appear. The file names are sound (no slash's etc) and it seems to do it on any mp3, even ones we successfully managed to import and publish last month. We've managed to wrap them in HTML for a quick fix but I'd appreciate if this could be investigated / replicated.
Christian, check the path for the Controller Files images for Mp3 playback.
@Himanshushing10 – Is there an blog post or article about "[Error: invalid asset]" around?
I mean not that kind Christian is getting…
For the records:
I got the error with an sRGB TIFF image saved by PhotoShop CS4. ICC profile included.
No error with the same image saved to JPEG (ICC profile included).
But the story goes on:
No luck to preview "Pan & Zoom" with the Desktop Content Viewer. The image is showing up, but I could not pan around.
No problem with previewing if I use the same image with "Scrollable Frames".
That works as expected.

@Laubender : The recommended file formats for Pan and Zoom are either JPEG or PNG. It does not work as desired with TIFF format. For best results, use JPEG images. Make sure that the image has the exact dimensions you want to use. For example, to pan a 1024-by-1024 pixel image within a 200-by-200 pixel view area, create a 1024-by-1024 image in 72 dpi.
