Try to select "Square Pixels"

In Export settings> Basic Settings > Aspect : [Square Pixels]

Tried everything to get this working: from setting up a Prores 422 preset, to messing with every possible setting in the export boxes.

Some how, I doubt this is a true statement.

Bizarrely, After Effects has no such problem, ever.

That is true. Wrong results are usually operator error. Agreed?

What's up Adobe?

This is not a 'square pixel' issue. Of course I tried that. This is a bug - either with quicktime or Adobe. No such problems with Media Composer 6, so that's my solution for now. Adore the 'replace with After Effects Composition' option so it breaks my heart. But it is what it is.

Look, I want someone who actually works for Adobe to get on this. CS6 is around the corner and there's no reason why the program's reputation for shaky, amateurish behavior needs to continue.

I export to ProRes on a daily basis, SD and HD, and I have not experienced an aspect ratio shift once, unless I instructed Pr to do so.

If you want Adobe to "get on this," you need to describe a problem that's reproducable on other systems. You have done nothing to this end, just made vague unsupported claims.

I want someone who actually works for Adobe to get on this.

In order to ensure that, you need to pay for a support ticket. 'Round here it's mostly us users. Employees do pop in from time to time, but it's not guaranteed.
