I created a brush that I now don't want. Doesn't tell me how to delete it.

One way is with the brush tool selected, right click on the brush you made and choose Delete Brush.

This doesn't work because... the brushes I want to delete only show up in the BRUSH palette; they're not listed in the drop-down in the bar. See attached image; I placed the BRUSH palette next to the drop down on the bar to do the screen capture. (The four brushes I want to delete are at the end on the right-hand side in the attached screen capture: 25 soft, 20 soft, 25 hard, 30 hard).

If I right-click on one of the four brushes in the BRUSH palette, I don't get any submenu at all. (Photoshop CS5 on Mac 10.6.8).

Try reloading the brush set (that looks like the Basic Brushes)

If you didn't save the set that should reset that brush set.

That also may have to do with the tool presets you have loaded.

(that's where some of the brush tips come from)

OK, I went to the Preset Manager and reloaded Basic Brushes. Again. Also (with the brush tool selected) I also went to the fly-out on the drop down menu and reloaded Basic Brushes there. I still have the four extras in my BRUSH palette. I'm stumped.

That dialog in the brushes panel are just the brushes tip shapes. The extra ones probably are from whatever tool presets you have loaded.

Try changing the tool presets and you'll see what i mean.

I can't believe how much trouble I'm having comprehending this. I feel like a dork. Thanks for your patience! I did Reset Tool Presets in the drop down menu you indicate. See image attached. Now I have 6 brush ...tips that I don't want. Where'd those 6 come from? And how did something like "Transparent Red Spray Paint" and "Paintbrush Oval 45 pixels Multiply" get in there? Nothing I ever would have created... unless my alter-ego snuck to work while I was sleeping...

So OK, I figured out how to delete those three. But I still have, after the big 500 tip, those four other ones... and the brush drop-down says "No Tool Presets Defined for Current Tool."

I don't seem to understand what all these menu choices are... Reset Tool, Preset Manager, Reset Tool Presets... and how they all interact, and I can't seem to find anything in Photoshop Help that helps me comprehend...
