I downloaded Photoshop CS6 Beta and all that I got were these five files -
Deployment
packages
payloads
resources
Set-up.exe
None of them allowed for the execution of the Beta software.
Please help in providing some direction so that I may try the new features.

What you should have downloaded was one zipped folder. Did you get it from
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/photoshopcs6/?
What type of system are you on.Mac or PC? Did you check the size of the file after downloaden? Did it match?
Did you extract the files? Did you then try to install? Did you select TRY and enter your adobe id?
Let me know exactly what you did and about your system and we can help more.
Thanks,
Pattie
HI Pattie,
I downloaded the Beta from Adobe Labs -
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/photoshopcs6.html
After a couple hours I got five files none of which I could execute. Sorry I no longer have saved them.
I run Windows 7.
I hope that this helps.
Best regards.

Those are actually 4 folders and a program file, zipped into a single downloadable archive.
Did you unzip them into a real folder on your hard drive? You could have done that by dragging them into another folder or onto your desktop.
If you did this, did something go wrong when you ran Set-up.exe?

Two things you might want to try, based on past similar posts.
1: If you haven't already, redownload the beta, possibly with another browser.
2: Use a different unzipping application. If I remember correctly, some users were having issues with WinZip. They tried WinRar, and it solve their issue.
Hi Noel,
Although I no longer have the "Zip File" information, I clicked on it and got another set of files for which I have no knowledge what to do with it.
When I clicked on it nothing happened to the existing Photoshop CS5 nor was there another Program created - Photoshop CS6.
When I clicked on the link provided by you below, this is what I got -
The file Type Assistant finds information about file types and software to open them. File name: image_png
• Search the web for software that can open your file
• Read and learn about files without file extensions
• Open using already installed software
I clicked on - Open using already installed software
Up came CS5 and I clicked on it only to be told - Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document .
This has been really frustrating, but thank you for your help.
Best regards.

May I suggest viewing and interacting with the forum via the web interface, rather than using eMail. Too many variables in the latter.

Hi Noel,
I just finished rerunning Adobe Labs Photoshop CS6 beta using Fire Fox instead of Internet explorer and got the same results. I got these files -
• Deployment
• packages
• payloads
• resources
• Set-up.exe
When I clicked on Set-up.exe I got this -
We encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize. this could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Adviser to detect the problem.
Again I ran the Adobe Support Adviser and got the following message -
Inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further assistance. http://www.adobe.com/support
I did this and they told me to contact Adobe Labs Support which I did. they were not helpful. This is when I Blogged.
I guess that I will just have to wait for the real thing. Anyway, thanks for your help.
Very Frustrated.

Tom,
The files are delivered in a zip file. Do you know what that is? It's an archive/packaging format that embodies encapsulation and compression.
The important thing to know is that the installer cannot be run directly from the zip archive,
What may be confusing you is that Windows opens a zip file up in what looks like a folder, but it's really not a folder. The installer can't see the other contents of the zip file unless you extract the entire folder contents onto your computer.
In short, once the zip file opens up, you have to drag the files out of the window and into a place on your hard drive - possibly your desktop - THEN run the installer from there.
It's not as integrated or turnkey an installation experience as you normally get with released commercial software. It's a beta test directly from Adobe Labs, and people who download beta software are generally expected to know more about how to install such things.
Hope this helps!

To reinforce what Noel said once you extract it the file still says the same thing Set-up.exe. But once extracted click on in again and it should load.
