I posted this on the old forum, and had the response (below mine) which made me a little cranky.
[orginal post]
Hi All,
I'm about to perform some imports of data in my BC account but wanted to make sure I could "undo" these if required.
Several posts refer to a process of "Undo a previous import" but I can't see this. Under Admin -> Import Data I selected "Contacts" to import a test contact. Apparently after this import there should be a "Undo a previous import" option - but it doesn't appear.
I have full admin access to my account - can anyone shed any light on this problem?
Regards,
Troy.

Hi Troy,
The Undo Import option has been removed because it was not working properly. It was too easy for users to delete the contacts and all orders and cases assigned to them. If you need to do some testing please you can trigger a test site and do your testing there.
Best wishes,
Mario
From what I've gathered, the ONLY way to do mass deletes in BC is to create an export list, reimport - then "undo a previous import". Without this function there is no way to mass delete. Hopefully I'm wrong...but how can this be a serious CRM if there is no way to mass delete contacts? I know I'm not the only person to have this issue. Mario above suggests a test site - but that doesn't work because I know exactly what I want to do and it must be done on a live site.
What I'm trying to do is search for all customers meeting certain criteria and then deleting them all. We have about 20,000 contacts and will be looking at deleting between 6,000-9,000.
Troy.
I believe this functionality still exists, but it is simply hidden. If you jump on live chat support should be able to provide you with the URL to this tool.
My guess is that it may have removed because users would undo an import unaware that it would delete the contacts as well as all their associated orders, cases, etc.
I just really want to see - Import, Export.
You export a file, its there, you make changes and then you import the same file back in lol.
Had a client question why everywhere it is Lastname and in the CRM file its Surname and why she has to make a custom report to be able to export the database and spend 15 minutes copying and pasting into the import template to be able to make mass changes, lol.
Hi Troy,
you can still access this feature via the direct URL, I found in another post.
After you are logged in you your admin area, visit:
www.yoururl.com/Utilities/ImportDataHistory.aspx
As mentioned though, this will delete ALL data associated with each record, like cases etc. Use with caution...
