find/change colour tint in table cell

Hi everyone,

 

I have a document containing a heap of tables. The tables currently have a tint of 15% black in some of the rows and I need to change this to 5% black. I also need to change the stroke weight from 0.5pt to 0.3pt.

 

Since there are so many of them, I wondered if there was a way to do this with find and change. The tables aren't objects - they're just regular tables inserted into the text frames.

 

Appreciate any help.

    If you want the changes to be there in all the tables , then you can try the Tables styles or the Cell style.

     

    Go to "Windows-->Styles-->Table styles", similarly you can load the "Cell styles"

     

    Right click on the style applied to the table in which you want to make the change , click "Edit <style name> ,

     

    Make teh changes out there and check.

    The only problem is that I didn't use table styles to create the tables so I can't target any cell styles.

     

    Is there no way to do this with find/change?

    Thanks for the link. It may work but I don't know how to read javascript so how would I adust the script to make it do what I need it to do as described in my first post?

    You are correct, it doesn't change stroke weights, only table fills. Well, at least it does half the job.

    Sorry to come back to this post but I'm still trying to figure out how to adapt the script suggested at this link: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/681944

     

    I'm assuming I need to swap out some values but  how would I adapt it so that it looks for table cells coloured with 20% black and changes them to 10% black.

     

    As mentioned previously, my javascript knowledge is limited so I'd need some guidance.

     

    Any further advice appreciated.

    Didn't you try and check what it does? To change fills you don't need to change anything in the script. You just run it and follow the prompts:

    No I didn't even try it - I assumed you needed to edit the script. Sorry about that - I'll try it out.
