Depends on the verion of ID, the insets realtive to the corners they need to describe a rectangle without rounded corners after the effect is applied, and whther you apply the insets or the corner effects first. This is not something I play with a lot, but I remember being able to fool ID into applying corners after the insets and leaving them at least once in the past.
