Removing unwanted sound in CS 5.5

Hi there. I'm using CS 5.5 and need to remove an unwanted 'clicking' noise that has come through in a project - it coincides with an interviewee speaking. The noise occurs frequently, but not consistently, throughout the footage. Is there a tool I can use to isolate the noise and remove all instances of it in the project, or are there any other tools that might help me with this problem? Any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Do you have Adobe Audition?

     

    If so, it has a great tool to Repair Transients, and that tool works beautifully.

     

    I have also used Click Removal, but it is a bit broader, and I more often just go to Repair Transient - for me, its default is about 99% for most Transients. I am amazed at how well it removes Transients, while leaving the other aspects of the Audio untouched.

    Hi Bill

     

    Thank you very much indeed for getting in touch. The good news is I do have Adobe Audition (version 4.0), however I have never used it before and am struggling to find a ‘Repair Transient’ tool or command – if you have time to come back to me, please could you point me in the right direction?

    This laptop has Audition 2.0, and Repair Transient is in my Favorites tab.

     

    I will check with a later version, when I get up to the office.

    In later editions, I think it may be called "Auto Heal" and is located under Favorites.

    Thanks both - there is indeed an 'Auto Heal' option listed under Favourites in Version 4.0 so I will give this a try!
