Container site

Hello, I am in the process of converting several older Flash websites to work without Flash.  Adobe Edge has been great for the animated parts, but what I am finding is there are certain things that are difficult to emulate.

 

The first is how Flash keeps everything in a container so to speak. You can have a main page that loads in other pages while at the same time music is playing (with a controller) regardless of what page you are on.

 

How would you do this in HTML/CSS? Do most people use frames and have the music player in a separate frame? Or is there a way to load other pages/code into part of an existing page? Any references to examples would be extremely helpful. Thanks! -Derryl
