What does this statement mean? I can't get Flash Player to install. I have an Inspiron 530 w/windows XP. The new vs of flash player goes to the windows of install and run, but it won't run and update itself. I have temporarialy disabled my anti-virus prog and it still doesn't run. I have tried to do it from the FireFox plugin site and from the Adobe site with absolutely no luck. Help? Thank you

Download and run the uninstaller from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows. html
Download and run the installers
for Internet Explorer http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/install_flash_p layer_ax_32bit.exe
for other browsers http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/install_flash_p layer_32bit.exe

Thank you so much Pat! It installed. I didn't know I had to uninstall the prog before I had deleted it thinking that would work. So I suppose it was still in some programs. Anyway, I used your links and I have the new version now so thank you for saving the last strands of hair on my head .

You're welcome! It is normally not require to uninstall it before installing an update or new version. But when there are problems during the install/update, I always suggest to run the uninstaller first.
