How to Spell Check a Book?

Apr 10, 2012 9:40 AM

I created a book using the Book Panel in Indesign CS5.5 for Mac.

I need to spell check the entire book.

I was hoping the flyout menu of the the book panel would have spell check.

Any ideas?

    You can create the new  "Preflight profile" in which you can include the "Dynamic spell check the error" , and under flyout menu of Book , you can choose "Preflight Book' and select the profile you have defined.

    Create a new Preflight profile :-

    a) Go to Windows-->Output-->Preflight ,

    b) Go to flyout menu of the prefilght menu and then choose "Define Profile"

    c) Click on "+" sign to craete the new profile and then on right side choose "Text"-->"Dynamic spell check the error"

    and then use this profile to do spell check in the Preflight book.

    you can spell check across "All Documents" (In the Search section of the Check Spelling dialogue box).

    It will spell check across all of the open documents that you have. I don't recommend doing 50 at once though.

    The reason being , book is the collection of the documents hence at the end you have to work on the document weather it is included in the book or not , so spell check ca be done right away when the document s complete ...There would be no need to spell check the book if the document are properly made.
