Help with paintbrush tool

I opened up Elements today and could not find the usual paint brush tool. Instead, I came across

and could not color with it as I could (I use Elements for art) with the usual paint brush tool. The bar options for this tool look like .

Does anyone have an idea as to how to exit this mode or this tool?

Yeah that's the smart brush tool. The paint brush tool is just above or to the left depending on the toolbox orientation.
Press the B key on the keyboard.

Thank you for the response. I seem to have lost my brush tool.
Do you know if it is possible to find it/recover it?
