Lightroom Photo Stacking Enraging Me!

Is there ANY way to get Lightroom 4 to stop stacking my photos on me?!?

I click from one photo to another and for reasons beyond my comprehension, Lightroom decides its going to stack a bunch of photos for me.  I unstack or expand all the stacks out and it screws up the user order I put them. 

How can I get it through Lightroom's head that I don't want it to stack my photos, I just want to click from one photo to another?
