I would like to create a search box in Indesign for use in my .swf interactive catalog. I want my customer to be able to use the interactive flip book feature but also be able to type an item number in a search box that would take them to the page the item number is on. I'm using .jpeg images of my catalog so the item numbers aren't exactly in a text box in the Indesign document, however I suppose I can create text boxes for all item numbers on there specific pages if that will help the process and then just make the numbers not visible. I don't know....? Anybody have a solution or workaround??? Thanks
With eDocker you can add simple keyword search to your SWF (+ quite many other extra features) but you must have your item numbers as live text in InDesign.
Here´s one public sample:

Try for instance word private.

Ya I checked into that and its way to expensive. About $500 a year just so I can search for a page or item number O_O!!! I don't think so. Do you happen to know how to make a scaler or page finder in Indesign or maybe Flash. If I can't get an item search then I would at least want a way for my readers to enter a page number in a text box then go directly to that page. Is there any way to do this????
Thanks for the replies
By the way it´s aprx. 500USD flat fee, not per year...
but I get your point. I have searched all kinds of solutions for 3 years and there´s very few. And nothing even close to search, exept eDocker. That´s mainly because those SWF files InDesign creates are practically impossible to search. InDesign splits all the words to smaller segments, so there´s nothing to search for. eDocker´s search is based on separate XML file which is created in InDesign. All the text of the whole document is stored in that XML. Search is not searching SWF, it is searching that XML instead....
But good luck for your search, and if you find something, let us know...=)
