How to get the new Map to use the Sublocation/Location/City/etc metadata

Most of my recent photos have the Sublocation/Location/City/State/Country/etc metadata filled in; wouldn't it make sense to use this data as an approximate location when positioning a photo on the map? I believe that Flickr works this way, for instance.

Do you mean that your photos do not have the GPS location, but do have Sublocation/Location/City/State/Country? Then I am quite sure Lightroom will not display the photos on the map. I also don't know what you are referring to when you say Flickr makes use of these values.

For the record, this process is called Geocoding.

I agree with you. Also it would be good if Saved Locations populated those fields.
