Where do I increase the buffer size in Audition 1.5?

hi

when I record in multi track - it records with pops and clicks.

I understand that in order to solve this problem I have to increase the buffer size.

where is that set?  under "Options" -> "Settings" -> "Multi -Track" -> "Play/Record" -> "Recording Buffer Size" ?

Well, you asked where it was, and I told you...

But if you're asking whether it's the right thing to change to fix the problem, then I'd say that this a different matter, and you can't fix anything like that with a simple buffer change, as a rule. For a start, we'd need to know exactly what you are trying to record here - how many tracks, and what sort of interface. Has it ever worked properly? If it did, what did you change about the machine to stop it working correctly?

And even just the simple act of increasing the buffers can sometimes make this worse, not better. For instance, if the buffer itself is getting corrupted, then increasing the size of it increases the amount of potential corruption.

First thing you should try though, is to record using Windows Recorder. This uses the same OS features as Audition 1.5 does to record, and if that doesn't work properly either, you stand no chance with Audition at all - you have to fix the problem at source (ie, in your machine). Are you running anti-virus software? This has been known to cause all sorts of problems on some machines.
