Anchor Lines into a paragraph.

To anchor a line into a praragraph one would CUT it, then select the the Type Tool and then click in the position of the text where they want the line to appear and paste.

 

 

Is following those steps one way to go about anchoring a line into a paragrah via a script?

 

Something like below??

 

cut(myGraphicLine)

 

"my text here "  + paste(myGraphicLine) + "the rest of my text here."

 

 

 

I have a handful of different lines that need to be anchored into the same paragraph via a script.

    Or do I have to recomposing of text and things like that?

    You can select a line and then run a script to do something with it, but how would a script know where in your text to paste the line? You cannot select a line and "then" point somewhere inside the text where it should be pasted -- if you do that you might as well directly cut-and-paste manually.

    app.select(myLine);

    app.cut(myLine);

     

     

    myTextFrame.contents= "this line looks like " +  app.toolBoxTools.currentTool=1954107508 + app.paste(myLine);

     

    So there's no "easy" way to do this?

    There is (the equivalent of "app.paste(myLine)"), but again, how would the script know where to paste? After ANY text that goes like "this line looks like "?

    I was hoping to find out that their was some function that I could place like

     

    myTextFrame.contents= "this line looks like " +  anchorHere(app.paste(myLine) + "some more text";

     

     

    Oh well.

    Can't you just add it to an insertionPoint?
