Cannot download, print or save .PDF files

I am running a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium, whenever I try to download, save or print .PDF files from the Internet nothing happens. I have Adobe Reader 10.1.3 installed and fully updated. Can anyone suggest an answer?

    Could you let me know the following:

    1. Which browser are you using to view the PDFs

    2. Are PDF successfully rendered on your browser:

    3. What is the behavior when you chose to the Save the PDF from the floating toolbar on the page? Do you get some error or is the button disabled?

    4. Are you able to view locally saved PDFs in the Reader standalone application?
