Grey out fields

Apr 13, 2012 12:31 PM

I would like to create a form that when you answer a question "no" to a question you would need to fill out addtional fields, if you answer "yes" those fields would be greyed out

    You have to use JavaScript to change the readonly property of the text field depending upon the value of the check box or radio button group.

    For the graying-out part, this tutorial demonstrates one approach: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/js_disabling_fields/

    If it is LiveCycle Designer form try this:

    on RadioButtonNo Checked event

    TextField1.access="readOnly"

    If it is AcroForm use 'Show Hide Fields' option under Actions->Select an Action and select the Textbox to hide and unhide. (Although this option will hide the form field)
