How can I make XDCAM-EX footage that was continuously recorded appear as a continuous clip on the timeline in Premiere Pro CS5? I don't want footage that was recorded continuously to appear as numerous little clips on the timeline in Premiere. I have tried nesting but that only makes the Video continuous and not the Audio.
If it was continuously recorded, then the file on the SxS card is one continuous clip (or maybe spanned) so there is no reason is will get changed to multiple clips. If that did happen for whatever mysterious reason, just nest you sequence in a new sequence and you will have a single clip.
Thank you Harm.
Using XDCAM-EX in HD mode is fine.
The problem arises when recording in SD (I had to pay an extra £700 for an internal Sony installed card to enable our Sony PMW350K to film in SD on the SxS cards).
When using the Media Browser I have to
View as: File Directory
to read these .avi files. And when they are imported the clips are all about 7mins long despite recording having been continuous.
Your suggestion of Nesting only makes the Video continuous not the Audio.
Does anyone know of a way to also make the Audio appear as one continuous clip?
