hello,
i need to encode a file with the dimensions 339 * 603 with apple ProRes 422 codec into flash flv with on2 vp6 codec.
Whenever i try, AME automatically resets file dimensions to 340 * 604.
It has to be 339 * 603 though.
When i override this, the exported file has a slim green or black edge on the right side of about 1 pixel in width.
green when i set to rescale, black when i set it to black edges.
I am using the trial version of the adobe Master collection, the videos were edited using FCP studio 3 in pro res422 or apple animation codec.
also, in the cropping menu, the preview does not work.
is that an issue with the trial version or is it symply not possible to export certain file dimensions?
i have tried several different codecs with the input file, but they all didnt work.
any help is greatly appreaciated,
thanx,
martin
The short answer is that odd dimensions are bad for video, which is why AME forces the dimensions to even values. If anybody has ever explained why video chokes on odd height/width values, I've forgotten the reason.
As for preview not showing, that's a known issue that was introduced by OSX 10.7.3. Apple has a fix in the works.
